North Shore Retreat

Location: Amesbury, MA

This project located along the banks of the Merrimac River, harmoniously transitions the natural rugged shoreline with the architecture. The existing 1920’s 2 bedroom bungalow was respectfully remodeled and expanded in order to maximize views and engage the landscape. This daily living space for this successful design is arranged around a kitchen core which reaches out to the landscape through a series of porches and landscaped terraces. The result is an environmentally inspired house firmly rooted in its surroundings.
