NEADS New Client House & Training Center
- Location: Princeton, MA
The Kathy Foreman Client House and Training Center located on the NEADS campus opened in 2015 and provides adequate services for NEADS clients. The project consisted of the renovation of the 2,200 SF existing client house as well as a 4,130 SF addition. The program includes a new living room, kitchen, 7 bedrooms, activity rooms, training space, meetings rooms, and support spaces. The tranquil landscape incorporates areas to gather as well as walking trails and paths.
NEADS, National Education for Assistance Dog Services, is a non-profit organization who pair people with trained dogs that provide canine assistance to deaf and disabled individuals, many of whom are war veterans. The service dogs provide strong physical and emotional support, bringing their companion towards an independent lifestyle. It was important as designers and to our client that we developed thoughtful interior and exterior spaces that will serve as an assistive back drop to the training process.
