This fall marked the completion of College of the Holy Cross’ Thomas P. Joyce ’59 Contemplative Center located in West Boylston, MA. Our office worked as architectural consultants with Lamoureux Pagano & Associates throughout the duration of the project. After morning rain showers the sun came out on a Saturday in September during the ribbon cutting and blessing ceremony. The Joyce Center, located off of the Holy Cross Worcester campus, will become home for the student, faculty, alumni, and staff retreat programs the college hosts each year.
The architectural design was inspired by the retreat experience, natural landscape, ledge outcroppings, and amazing views of the Wachusett Reservoir. The building program includes a chapel, meeting rooms, breakout spaces, a dining hall, bedrooms for up to 60 guests, and support spaces.
